MD of Working Boats UK Ltd, Chris Smith, is
pleased to
announce the conclusion of a comprehensive supply to the Caspian Sea oilfield and Teniz Services LLC of
Kazakhstan.
The despatch of a second container to Aktau of the fully
profiled
aluminium and extrusions for the 13m oil spill recovery barge,
concludes a
design and production process which resulted in the contract to supply
the
builders appointed by Teniz Services LLC, Mangistau Oblast Boat Yard
LLP,
of a complete OSRV in kit form – the profiled aluminium and
extrusions, twin
engines (Cummins QSB230hp/Bravo stern drives) with all engine
ancillaries
(Vetus den Ouden), powerpack (Betamarine Kubota 90hp), a comprehensive
hydraulic ring main and controls to the Slickbar DIP gear, winch
(Rotzler Titan),
oil screw
pumps (Lamor), fire monitor and pump (Rosenbauer and Ro-Clean Desmi) by
Hercules
Hydraulics, all navigational and electronics and smaller items down to
door
handles, manual WC, helmsman’s seat (Norsap), lighting in the
pilothouse and
searchlights and floodlights.
The 13m barge was designed specifically for
Working Boats UK
by Bruce Sexton-Barrow and can carry 18MT of recovered oil. The refined
bow
shape was developed to avoid cavitation under the hull and makes this
design
particularly suited to water jet propulsion.
The barge will be manned and operated by
Teniz Services LLC
after crew training by Working Boats UK Ltd and Slickbar Inc.
